No similar institution exists in tho North Island which iB thus wholly dopendant for ita supplies upon the Woollen Factories of the South Island and upon imports. It is moderately estimated that tho quantity of material of the classes proposed to bo manufactured, which would find an immediate outlet, would yearly exceed £250,000, an amount sufficient to yield a very baudBomo dividend upon the capital of the Comply- ,

The special natural advantages possessed by this district for, carrying on and trading in manufactures of the classes pioposcd maitof themselves form an essential element - in tho success of the Company, and give assurance that it will be able succeasfuly to emalate the prosperity of other faotories already in operation in tho South Island. The Directors do not venture to afford any dah upon which to ground anticipations of profit, but confidently appeal to tho success which has attended the operations of the Koiapoi and Mosgiel Woollen Companies as offering a reasonable guaranteo that tho present undertaking will, under careful management, not be behind them in the returns it will yield. It may be mentioned that the dividends already paid by the above Companies have proved that there is ample room for tho extension of tho woollen industry, and the Directors do not hesitate in lecommcnding the present enterprise lo tho attontion of persons requiring a legitimate iuvcatmeut for their money, while tho advantages which they enjoy of being able to avoid errors necessarily arising from inexperience, justify a bopo that tho works of tho Company will be established at a icaaonable cost, Applications for shares, in form annexed, may b« made to the Secretary, at Wellington, either direct or through tho brokers of the Company; or any of their agents.
