RAILWAY ACCIDENT AT GLASGOW.

A disastrous railway collision oc burred on March 19th at Glasgow between the express train from Edinburgh at 5 p,'m. and the Busby and Kilbride train from Glasgow at 6.15. The Glasgow train was principally filled by merchants from the city. The ' ' collision was a terrible one. The - engines ot both trains were thrown on the side of the embankment, and several of the carriages were smashed lo pieces. Tho names of the persons killed in the accident are John Bryden Halbert a clerk; William Russels,, a, clerk ; ' ; - James M'Greddon, and James War- : '"'" nock, an auctioneer, who died 1 in the Infirmary subsequently; Woods, and Muir, the driver and stoker of the Edinborongh train, are'still in the j Infirmary, but are going on favorably. ''- Woods, who is charged with starting his train against signals, is watched by a policeman. There are 12 injured, three of whom are ministers—The Rev. Mr King, of Newkilpatriek; the Rev. Mr Fleming, of Paisley; and tho Rev Mr Thornton, of the Free Church, Glasgow, No further deaths are expected in the Infirmary. The passengers state that after the accident the steam escaping from the engines was so dense, and the noise so great that for some time it was difficult to determine the position of affairs. The Edinborongh locomotive was lying upon its side, and two third-class carriages were telescoped and tilted up in the air. The passengers were jammed among the ruins, some dead and others injured.
