He also objected to Mr Lee's remarks jn the report regarding " standard passes," "payroept ]by results,"" additional standard," so, ije further enquired the meaning of tj)p phrase "noisy discipline!' used by Mr Lee, and thought teaoLers should be afforded an opportunity of expressing why scholars were "weak" in certain subjects, as boldly pointed out in the report. Dr Newman thought Mr Hutchison was doing good service by drawing attention to these matters, and added that. the Inßpeotor had complained in former-times of the Board not taking up the points of his report. Sir Paterson thought Mr Lee had simply done his duty:in pointing out the weak parts of the Board's teaching power, and naturally expeoted the Board to take the points up, Mr Bunny thereupon moved that a oommittee consisting of the Chairman, Messrs Paterson, Hutchison, and the mover, he appointedto consider the report, and give information to the Board at a hituve meeting, the committee to have powur to communicate on. the subject with the schoolmasters and committees.
