We are in another stage ot advancement. Our enterprizing "cobbler," Mr W. Taylor, having bought a piece of ground from Messrs Nathan and Co,, is erecting a shop and dwelling house, which he expects to open in about three weeks. Some parties interested are agitating for tho construction of the new road from Tenui to Castelpoint. There are) great differences of opinion regarding this road. Soma seem to think it would be a difficult matter ro form a good road, the oouutry at this particular spot being rather rough. In my opinion what the settlers really want is a good road to Masterton. It is always a niuch surer way ; of/getting, their goods through from Wellington. Very often' the steamers are not able to touch at Oastlepoint, and goods are very often taken on to Napier and Bometimes back to Wellington boforegotling to their destination—to say nothing of the risk attending the landing, provisions very often being damaged by the salt water.
