Intelligence is to hand that a series of avalanches have occurred at Mount Ararat in Armenia, and a number of villages have been completely destroyed and hundreds of poople killed, SYDNEY. March 2G. Received March 27; 1 p.m.—The Easter encampments of Volunteers at Windsor and Muddlehead passed off most successfully. There was an immense tvaflic ytstcrday on trams and railways, and the harbor steamers were crowded with excursionists, At one of the favorite resorts, the Balmoral steamer Jetty, when covered with people, collapsed, and numbers were precipitated into the water, but all were speedily rescued.
