[to the editor wairarapa daiiy.] Sir,—There exists in part of County East considerable dissatigfaotion at' the arbitrary allotment of representatives for the several Ritlingß: the distribution of seats appearing to bo unequal and unjust; baaed upon no recognisable principle. It appears to be a question whether in this County,|at all (events ( the proclamation disolvine; the old Counties and reforming the new, fixing the Hidings and number of Councillors, is legal. Unless the alterations were made by Bpeoial orders within six months of the passing of the Counties Amending Act the Governor in Counoil ' would mako the arrangements necessary, \but it is affirmed the Bpeoial orders were -not made, aLd the Governor acted before the expiration of the six monthß, Per-' haps Borae of your readers who are well read in the Statutes of 1882 would kindly . explain tbe matter, 'as if any foundation ';for the statements made exist it is very .desirable that a more equitable division . thould be mado. lam, &0., Aifbedtok Eidiso.
