' Sailed, this morning, Manapouri, for the Bluff, Arrived, this afternoon —P. and 0, Co.'s steamship Australia, with the Suez mail, which left London, Feb. 29. The manager of the National Morigage and Agency Company of New Zealand reports of the local grain market as follows:—Wheat is dull, Shipping parcels, 5s 3d to 5s 4d; malting barley, 5s 3d to 5s Gd. New Zealand oats are quieter and weaker; feeding, 2s lOd to 3s 3d; milling, 3s 3d to 2s 4d; New Zealand oats under bond, 3s 3d to 2s lOd. LONDON. March 19. A fair demand prevailed at to-day's wool sale. Tho catalogue comprised .12,300 bales. Consols remain at 102}, ITeW Zealand securities continue at the following quotations—s per cent, 10-40 loan, 107J-; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 104; 4$ per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 102; 4 per cent, inscribed stock, The breadstufls market continues weak, but prices are without change. Adelaide wheat, 50s; New Zealand wheat, 465; Adelaide flour, 34s Gd, all ox -store, Australian beef tallow at 40s Gd, and mutton at 43s Gd.. •
The Homeward mails, via Naples, per Orient Steamship Sorata, which left Melbourne February 7th, were delivered iii London to-day. March 20. In the House of Commons to-day a Bill for tho amendment of the bankruptcy law was read a second time, and will now be passed on to the Grand Committee for consideration and report. In a despatch which the Earl Dufferin has addressed to the Foreign i Secretary, detailing the plan of the new Egyptian Constitution, his lordship 'Strongly condemns the withdrawal of the British troops until the new form -of government is working thoroughly. SYDNEY, March 20. The gold rush near Barmedman has proved a complete failure.
