WAIRARAPA HOSPITAL.
The ordinary monthly meeting ot the Committee was held at the office of Mr F. H. Wood on ..Tuesday at 4 o'clock. Present—Mesara Cuff (in the. chair), Booth, Wyett, Skeet. Wood . and Rtft. H. Y. White. '• ' . , .. The jnioutes - of the previous meeiinj; wero read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported the overdraft at Bank a« £79 9a 9d. The Chairman reported having accepted the tender'of-Mr *R, J, Thompson for hospital aupplies for current year. Some emqll accounts wero passed for payment, Correspondence inwards was read from (he Waiohine Eiver Board,.- enclosing cheque for £1 15a, a refund of rates ae a donation from the Board. . A deputation from the. Oddfellows, con: listing of Messrs Lojisby, Maxion, and Webster, I 'waited on the Committee in reference to a case in wbioh they wished the Hospital Committee to aßßist them.' The case.was that of Mrs Greathead; who had for the last four years been lying unable -to leave het-bod, being partly paralysed;.'! and was ''in very indigent oircumitances. The Oddfellows had been payingnVoinan. for the last nine months to partly attend., her, but they were not sufficiently numerous to look . after her,altogether,-imii they wished, to tnow if the Hospital Committee would: [ . admit her to the hospital, and they would raise a sum to asssist the. Committee in ttaintainibg 'her. . After hearing the deputation) the Committee . expressed the opinion that it was a hard case, but not one for the hospital to deal with. The deputation, thanked tho Coinmittee t aiid withdrew.' ■ Mr Skeet was appointed hospital visitor . for the month.
