RULES AND REGULATIONS. All entries to bo mado sub|cct to tho condition that all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and- that such docision shall be final and binding In all cases. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdle Race, Maiden Plate, Taratahl-Carterton Handicap, and Sapling Stakes to be made in writing, stating name, pedigree, description aud name of horse, and colors of rider, and to be sent in accompanied by thonominalioh fee, to the office of the Hon. Secretary, 0. H. Giles, Carterton, on or before Thursday, 4th January, 1883, at 6 p.m. The weights will be declared on or before lOth January, 1883, and posted at the Secretary's Office, also published in the local newspapers. Acceptances to bo made on or before Tuesday 16th January, 1883, at 0 p.m. Three entries or the public money will bo withheld. No prottst will be considered unless lodged with the Secretary within 15 minutes after the race, accompanied by a deposit of two pounds, which shall be forfeited if the Stewards arc of opinion that tho protest Is frivolous or vexatious.
