Received Dec. 1,1 p.m.-The eleotioo of members for the Melbourne Province in the Legislative Oimncil has resulted in the return of Mr Ham,, who beat Dr Baaney. by leveu votes. Mr Coppiu was also a candidate. SYDNEY, this day. In his speech at the hustings Ust evening Sir Henry Parkes' said that he refused to accept liis defeat for East Sydney as the verdict of the country, but that it would probably result in cortain changes iu the Government.
