The promoters have accepted an offer conditionally for the purchase of these at £1,575. In addition to the Theatre, they will have a residence, from which a rental of 12s 6d per week may be anticipated,
Thejnecessary alterations, for which plans have been already prepared, aro estimated to cost £SOO, This will include ono of tho largest stages in the colony, and seating accommodation for 1,000 porsons, The building is centrally situated, and admirably adapted for Theatrical, Operatic, and Musical performances, Balls and Mass meetings, It will enable the best Metropolitan Companies to visit this part of the district, and prove a decidedjacquisition to the play-going residents and outside public, by placing before them the best of talent and finest of modern performances under the most advantageous circumstances possible, It will Jso be availablo for local exhibitions, sucli as Horticultural Shows, Bazaars, Public lectures, &c The new Theatre will bo decorated in the highest ptylo of art, fitted with the best scenery, and all the accessories for producing effective scenic displays. By being rendered attractive, it is believed that it will be largely patronised by the loading histrionic companies who visit at present only the sea-hoard centres, and that it will bo rendered highly reproductive, as well as of the greatest Denefit, to the community by contributing to their amusement and instruction, Making allowance for all reasonable nonlingencies, the promoters feel convinced that at hast f a profit of from ten to fifteen per cent, pe'r aunum will be realised on the capital invested, As £1,500 of the purchase money can bo raised on mortgage, it is not proposed tj c ill up more than £6OO at first, extending tliio i y eiipy calls—only if absolutely required- to £IOOO The Share list will close on December 10.
