(fKOK OUR OWH CORRESPONDENT.) An exceedingly dry Spring is being experienced here, and rain is much required. Tenui was very festive during the last week, a dance taking place on Friday night, and the Masterton Surprise Party's entertainment on Saturday. •. The dance was given'under the aus< pices of the Publio Hall Committee, and was a decided success, some £lO will accrue to the Hall fin.da from it. The Surprise Party's entertainment was also a success, and drew a full house, and judging from, the applause that groeted each performer, the audience was satisfied. It is to be regretted, however, that some few roughs were allowed to be over demonstrative, their exuberance of spirits finding vent in "cuss" words, and remarks anything but fit for the ears of females who were present. A widft difference of opinion prevails on the subject, some being in favor of the union of the Counties, and others advocating a Northern and Southern division.
