The barometer baa been higher than on any previous week in the preceding four months. The mean lor the week is 29 885 laches, and the mean for the thermometer is 46 Fab'. ,It may be remarked in making a comparison with respect to the rainfall for Maaterton, Wellington, and Ohristchurch, that we have the heaviest here. The total for Mxßterton for the past throe months is 22 228; inches;: for, Wellington 16*836 iiioh. (average); for'Ohriatohuroh, 7;833 inches. It will be seen from returns quoted how important they hsoome, to enable the fanner to select" a locality in which ip dwell, .■■••■>■
