PHOSPHORUS AS A POISON. TO THE EDITOR, Sir—Noticing in your paper a few weeks iigo a letter from a correspondent | relative to an experiment tried on a fowl jty giving it phosphorised wheat which had been made a fortnight, and in which letter your correspondent stated that the Doisoned wheat hud lost its power and did not injure the fowl at all, m the interests of the public, and .to prevent settlers from being led iilto'a 1 'grave' error in supposing that wheat having been laid two weeks is then not I shall be glad if you will imert this letter in your valuable paper, I gave n fowl phosphurised wheat which hui been laid four weeks, and in three days the fowl died with all the usual symptoms of phosphorus poisoning Your correspondent could not have made ,the poisiin correctly, as the poison I used was made according to M the usual,.method' adopted. M the above .mentioned , letter..was calculated to mislead readers, and be & cause-of much Joss it . stock placed on land oii'which'poison had' Men? laid two weeks, I take the.liberty,of forwarding you the result of Wetillly tried experiment, Apologising for trespassing on your valuable space, I»m,&c., KODEST,. .
