The Melbourne Daily Telegraph relates the following heatlees caseA young girl giving the name of Maggie Smith, whp'Ma'ed she had not been, Ion? in the city from- Morrison's, near Meredith, was brought before the city justices under painfor oireumstancos, She was arrested at tho Hobson'n Bay Bailway Station, where sho was promenading about, crying and talking to" herself. When taken to the City Police Station she was questioned, and stated that on the previoup day she had made, the acquaintance of n man, who took her to the Theatre Royal in the evening. While thoy were thorethe panic happened and frightened her very mufch, After they left the theatre, her acquaintance took her to a house, which she said:she could point out, and was there given something ' hitter' to drink. •Sho could not remember what happened in the house, but found herself in the street in the morning. Her story leit tho impression that she had been drugged. Sho was remanded for inquiry, Her parents are doad."
