A meeting of the Bojird was held atTenu on Saturday last. Present Messrs Mackay (chairman), Smythe, Williams, Belliss, and Miller, The minutes of the previous meeting wero read an confirmed.

Wilsone, re alteration of district boundaries; from name, with copy of resolution ro works at Waihova; from J. Langdon, re works in No. 2 Ward; from T, Stilborn, re sawing of timber in making culverts; from J. Cross, requesting the Board to lay off a road to his property Jfrom C. Peach, requesting permission to removo the old bridge at tho blacksmith's shop on his properly; from Burgess & Son, Applying for ono month's extension of time; from same, re quality _cf metal; from Mr Taylor, with account for forming and metalFng in No. 2 Ward; from McGregor Bros., with account for timber; from Nathan & Co,, with corrected account, tools; from D, O'Kane, with account for .repairs in No. 4 Ward; from T. Eesolved.—That the application- made by Mr Morrison at the last meeting for a sum of j635 for improving tho lower portion of the Blairlogio road be granted, No; 5 Ward to contribute £ls of tho amount ;lbat this Board approve of the proposed alteration in the boundaries between the Masterton and Castlepoint Highway Districts as shown in the tracings received from the Masterton Board ; that the Chief Surveyor be written to, requesting him to instruot Mr Ashoroft to lay off a line of road from scotion 880 to join tho main road in Mungapakeha Valley by way of Wakaroro; that Mr Stilborn's request on the supposed profits arising out of the sawing of timber in making oulverts in his contract cannot bo entertained; that this Board will be responsible for the location of tho line of road indicated by Mr Ashcroft in his letter to Mr McHutchon; that ißurgess and Son's application be granted, The following accounts wero passed for payment £ b d : Men's wages, Castlepoint line 1919 0 „ „ Mungapakahard 7 3 6 ~ „ No. 1 Ward ... 1114 0 v, „ No. 2 „ ... 11 7 6 A. The funeral of Longfellow took place at Boston on March 26, and was attended by many persona famous in the literary world, The services were conducted by tho Rev Samuel Longfellew, brother of the deceased.
