The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited), have received the following produce telegram, dated London, May 16, 1882:—Wool Tho Bales opened on tho 16th insl., at tho level of last sales. The opening catalogue contained COOO bales, and was a fairly ropresontativo one, Ooawo crossbred, market easier.
Murray, Eoberls aud Co, yesterday, received the following cable message from Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co:— London, lGtli May. The sale's opened to-day with an averngo attendance of bnyers. Market rates about epual to closing rates of last saleß for merino and fine crossbred; coarse crossbred Hd •below closing rates of lsst sales, Dunedin, May 13. Messrs Denmston and Co. have received the following cable message from Messrs James Morrison and Co., refering to tho wool sales, which opened on the lGth instant" London, 10th May. Second seiies of colonial wool sales, which commenced this evening, opened without change, aud generally on the level of last sales prices, The attendance of both Home and foreign buyers was numerous, and biddings for merino wool very active, The total quantity of hales .available is 340,000, comprising 30,000 from the Cape and 310,000 from tho Australian colonies. The sale's aro likely to continue active throughout, and present rales will probably bu maintained,
