Y OTICE ia hereby given that the WELjJV LINGTON GAS COMPANY (Limited] intend to prcseut a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at its next session, praying for leave to introduce a Bill, to be intituled an Act to amend the Wellington Gas Company's Act, 1870, providing that the objects for which the Company was established may be enlarged, and that the powers conferred upon it by the said Act may be extended, sons to enable tho Company to undertake or engage in the manufacture aud supply of gas, or any other kind ot light whatsoever in any city, town, or place within the limits of the Provincial District of Wellington, and the purchase, hire, or manufacture of all neccs3ary appliances, materials, and things that may be required for any ■of the purposes nforesaid; aud supplying and lighting with gas or otherwise any public or private building, or any street or public or private place within such limits j and providing and furnishing any municipality or body, corporate company, or person, with engines, machinery, stoves, lamps, lamp. posts, burners, meters, or pipes, or any other appliances that may be required for the purposes aforesaid, and keeping tho saino in ropair, aud the sale of eu'eh surplus products or stock-in-trade as the Company may desire to dispose of.
