Tho Daily News states that Sir Arthur Gordon is about to resign the Governorship of New Zealand. The ordinary meeting of tho Land Board was held on Thursday lust, Present-Mr J, G. Holdsworth, Commissioner, in the chair, and Messrs Thomas Mason, W. W. Taylor, and George Bcetham. The minutes oi the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Chief Surveyor submitted a ochome for sub-dividing a block of Crown lands situated at the sources of the Whareama and Pakoivhai rivers, and it was resolved that the land should bo sub-divided into sections not exceeding G4O acres each, and not necessarily rectangular, and that at the next auction salo it should be offered as pas: ture land at the upset price of 103 per acre, The following resolution was also carried; —That the Land Board desires to put on record its deep and heartfelt sympathy with tho widow and children of the deceased William Holmos, who for so many years faithfully discharged the important duties entrusted to him as Chief Clerk in the Land Office.
