This eminent firm of Agricultural Implement Engineers, after devoting several years' attention to the production of a first-claw machine, now offer their Harvester, claiming that it is brought to the highest state of perfection that experience has yet rendered possible. The woodwork of this machine is of selected English Ash, the castings are of extra quality, the fingers of patent welded steel and iron, and the workmanship throughout of the high quality of English machinery. The knotting apparatus employed by Samuelson and Co., is such that it is impossible for the knot to be' missed, and its operation so perfect that it will not fail to tie the bands securely. ut The report of a trial, under the auspices of the Otago A. and P. Association, at Abbotsford, Otago, on 17th February last, says " This machine turned out its work in a very superior manner. The sheaves were well balanced, securely tied, and delivered with porfect regularity, the cut was as stiaight as an arrow's flight, and the machine appeared t > travel over the ground remarkably easy, so that a good rate of speed was maintaired, A hempen cord was used for tying The spectators were extremely well pleased with this machine. To all appearance in would have finished its plot first, or, at any rale, about the same timeaa the McCormack, but for an accident which occurred when only about two rounds had to bo made. When going through a little gully the 'swayboard,' or 'vibrator,' as some term it, broke, and the machine was helplessly stuck up, so far as the competition was concerned." The verdict of the judges was a follows! " Samuelson did not finish allotment; Osborne, 12 points; Wood, 23 points ; Robertson's Deering, 14 points; D. Eeid's Deering, 18 points; McCormack,23 points. We the undersigned judges, appointed by the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association to judge tliq twine binders, have come to the conclusion that, in the crop to-day tho work done by the Wood and McOormack machines, and by vlio Samuelson, until the timo of tho accident, was as near perfection as could be." [Signed by tho seven judges ] Mr Samuelson, junior, who visited tho colonies during the recent harvest to examine into special circumstancos and wants, has ieturned to England, and will effect such small alterations as the experience of his visit may suggest, and we have confidence in recommending the SAMUELSON HARVESTER,' as the best in the market for the next season. As only a limited number of machines will be shipped, to prevent disappointment, intending purchasers would do well to communicate with us in timo for next outgoing mail.
