V OTICE is hereby given that the WELx\ LINGTON OAS COMPANY (Limited) intend to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at its next session, praying for leave to introduce a Bill, to be intituled an .Act to amend the Wellington Uns Company's Act, 1870, providing that the J objects for which tho Company was established may be enlarged, ?.nd that the powers conferred upon it by tho said Act may be extended, so as to enablo tho Company to undertake or engage in tho manufacture and supply of gas, or any other kind ot light whatsoever in any city, town,or place within the limits of the Provincial District of Wellington, and tho purchase, hire, or manufacture of all necessary appliances, materials, and things that may be required for any of tho purposos aforesaid; and supplying and lighting with gas or otherwise any public or private building, or any street or public or private place within such limits; and providing and furnishing any municipality or body, corporate company, or person, with engines, machinery, stoves, lamps, lampposts, burners, moters, or pipes, or any other appliances that may be required for the purposes aforesaid, and keeping tho same in repair, and tho sale of such surplus products orstock-in-trado as tho Company may desire to dispose of.
