V OTICE in hereby given that the WEL- _> LINGTON (US COMPANY (Limited) intend to present a petition to tho General Assembly of New Zealand at its next session, praying for leave to introduce a Bill, to be intitukd an Aci to amend the Wellington Gbb Company's Act, 1870, providing that the object* for which the Company was established may be enlarged, and that the powers conferred upon it by the said Act may bo extended, so as to enable the Company to . audertake or engage in the manufacture and supply of gas, or any other kind ot light whatsoever in any city, town, or place within the limits of-the Provincial District of Wellington, and the purchase, hire, or manufacture of all necessary appliances, materials, and things that may be required for any of the purposes aforesaid; and supplying and lighting with gas or otherwise any publio or private building, or any strcot or publio or private place within such limits; and providing and furnishing any municipality or body, corporate company, or person, with engines, machinery, stoves, lamps, lampposts, burners, meters, or pipes, or any other appliances that may be required for the purposes aforesaid, and keeping tho same in repair, and the sale of such surplus products or stock-in-trade as the Company may desire to dispose of. ■■' Copies of tho said Bill will be doposited in t office of the Examiner of Standing Orders r before the commencement of the session.
