The sheaves .were well balanced, securely tied, and delivered with perfect regularity, the out was as straight as ah arrow's flight, and the machine appeared t) travel over the ground remark, ably easy, so that a good rate of speed was maintained. A hempen cord was used for tying The spectators' were extremely well pleased with this machine. To all appearance in would have finished its plot first, or, at any raie.-about the same time as the McCormack, but for an accident which occurred when only about two rounds had to be made. When going through a little gully the'swayboard,' or 'vibrator,'as Borne term it, broke, and the machine was helplessly stuck up, so far as the competition was concerned." The verdict of the judges was a followsl"Samuelson did not finish allotment; Osborne, 12 points; Wood, 23 points ; Robertson's Deering, 14 points; D. Beid's Deoring, 18 points; McCormack, 23 points. We the undersigned judges, appointed by the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association to judge the twine binders, havo come the work done by the Wood and McCormack machines, and by tho Sainuelson, until the time of the accident, wis as near perfection as could be."
