The leases of the Greytown Town Belt expiring in 1881, the. lands were submitted to auotion by tho Greytown Trustees, and. resulted in 26' sections being let at an increased yearly-rental of 113' 15s 6d. Ten sections were unsold and nine sections are yet'unexpired. The Trustees" reserved seven sections for various purposes, hut oue half of the lotting valuo of such reserved sections will have to he paid to this Trust yearly, The.negotiations for purchasing the Masterton iuterest in-" their Town Bolt have not been resumed by the Greytown Trustees, but by tho recout sale of leases the capital value of the Town Belt is ascertained to be about 41024, and this amount would be a basis for any future arrangement.
Your Trustees, in conjunction with the Groytown Trustees, propose introducing a Bill this session to amend the existing Lands Management Acts, with a view to consolidate, and make them more efficient and rectify omissions, With the proposed amendments you will bo duly made acquainted, and your consent asked for. Mr McCardlo having resigned his Trusteeship, the vacanoy was filled by tho Trustees by the appointment of Mr J. Wrigley. Mossrs Eenall and Gray retire by rotation, and you will be called upon to elect their successors ou the 27th of the present montb. The retiring Trustees are eligible for re election, Ypu will, to-night, be asked to elect two auditors in : place of Messrs B. ■\Yilsoue and. W. Se)lar whose term of office expires, Jf morp than two are nominated, and a balk desired, you will have to be advised of the day of election in the usual way, ' Epwjn Fejst, Chairman.
