What actually took place in regard to the Premier advising the Governor to Bend for Sir George Grey was as follows: The Hon Mr Johnston in handing in the resignation of the Ministry to the Governor informed His Excellency that he was also the bearer of a communication from the Premier giving his advice as to who should be sent for.
