CORRESPONDENCE.
To'the Enwoß. Sir,—l notice that in a paragraph of yesterday's issue of the Daily in which you refer to our display of_ drapery, you say " We are not in the habit of puffing," thereby conveying the inference that your contemborary has been doing bo. The remark, I think, was unnecessary, bocfiuse if you had personally inspected our goods, an the representative of yojiy contemporary did, you would find thai there has been neither puffing nor exaggeration shewn, but stern facts. The fact is that a good rnaey country residents allow themselves, to, be self-deceived by ... the undoubted " pufta" in the Wellington papers, forgetring that local firms, such as Sohroder, Hooper ft Co., with no high rents or taxes to contend against can,, undersell the establishments''of the big' 1 • centres,
I Am, &o„ L. J. Hoofer.
