So many 'experiments have from time to time been made to keep people, sober that one may well feel some, uncertainty as to the success of. the present one. We shall watch'the result of it pith a lively interest, and if it has the effect of healing domestic troubles and promotin'g'the happiness of the families of men who have'been victims of intemperance it will no doubt be resorted to"' in many other, cases, besides those which came before the Court yesterday. Tinder the 167 th clause any person knowing the prohibition of the Court who shall give, sell, or procure drink on account of the prohibited person is liable to a. penalty not exceeding five pounds for each offence.
