The question of a County rate is to be decided on Saturday noxt. Putting on one eide the personal disinclination of Councillor to levy an unpopular charge on the community, the simple issue which has to be determined is whether tho main' line is to be kept in repair or not ? If it is, a rate must be struck t If it is not, the evil is postponed only to be faced under graver difficulties at a future day. Of course the Council might borrow money for repairs, but such an uniißual expedient would not be likely to find many advocates.
