BOROUGH NUISANCES.
'. [To tho-Editor of the Daily.l Sm.-Can you translate the word " nuisance" from a Borough Council point of view ? Or perhaps I ought to say point of smell i I have never liked the Akoura road since a boiling down establishment gave a tone to the air in that direction, but Mr Perry's pot is "otto of roses" compared with the exhalations from the slaughter house ou the Upper Plain ioad, I can wade through a bog, ride over fallen timber, and at a pinch drivo through a broken culvert, but wheu confronted by a solid wall of stench, reeking of putrilied animal matter, it is too much for both me and my horse, aud he craves your interference.
