MAORI SUICIDE THROUGH JEALOUSY.
(united press association.) Akw Plymouth, Feb. 27. The natives of Parihaka have reported that a nativo named Ngamotu committed suicide at the settlement on Friday. He had been jealous of his wife for some time past, and on Friday found her in company with her paramour. Ngamotu was so enraged that he went immediately to a whare and hnnaed himself by a rope suspended fro.m the roof. His dead body was discovered ahout two hours after the commission of the act. Tho natives were in a great state of excitement, and would have taken vengeanco on the man who had caused the trouble, but he had cleared out of the settlement. A tangi was held, and the body was buried without any disturbance occurring.
