A GAROTTING SCARE IN CHRISTCHURCH.
■♦ • (UNITED press ASSOCIATION.) Christchuroh, Feb. 27. It is reported that no ess than six cases of garotting occurred on Saturday night, one of which, at least, was serious. The circumstances have been kept quiet, but leaked out to-day. No particulars are yet available. Another case of assault occurred one niuht last week, but the man assailed happened to be a rather Btrong fellow, and left his antagonist senseless, not troubling himself further in the mat•tor. . .
