PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) MORE FIRES. Auckland, February 24. The Waverley Hotel, in Queen-street, was discovered to be on fire at 2 o'olpck this morning. Before the Brigade succeeded in getting the flames under, a considerable portion of the building was completely gutted. The hotel is owned by the City Counail.Patba, thiß day. The police stables were gutted by fire last night. The weather was calm or the County Council buildings must have gone. By almost superhuman efforts, after threequarters of an hour's, hard work, the jflames were subdued. The cause of the fire is not tidown.
