A few Suburban Lots, of 6 acres and 10 acres each, and Small Farms varying from 40 to GO acres, will also be offered. The lots as marked on the plan will be let on lease for nincty-nino years, under arrangement made by the Government of New Zealand with tho proprietors of the soil. Tho letting will bo by auction, at the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands, in Auckland, on the 7th of March, 1882, Rents will bo payable half-yearly, the first half-year being paid on the day of Bale. All mineral waters, hot.'' springs,! and streams are, and remain vested in the Crown. The reserves for schools, post office, telegraph office, railway, hospital, and other public objects will be shown on the maps on the day of sate The recreation-grounds will bo reserved for tho public, and will be under the management of a local body, There will be a resident medical officer, appointed by tho Government. The government of the town will be by a local body constituted under "The Thermal Springs District Act, 1881." Some of tho building Bites, peculiarly suitable for residences, will be let subjcot to restrictions bb to use for trades or shops. The hotels and lodging-houses will be governed by regulations suitable to the exceptional character and requirements of tho town. Bents will be paid half-yearly, in Auckland, or in the town, as may bo found convenient. Possession of the land will be given immediately after tho auction. The lots may bo now identified on the ground by marked pegs. The use of the waters, and all similar arrangements, will be under the control of the doctor and a local body. Copies of the plans and full printed particulars can be seen at any Post or Telegraph Office, Railway Station, and Athehasum, or they can bo obtained from any Commissioners of Crown Lands at any Land Office'' in the colony. ALTHOUGH this lorfice has been in cxistenje for a period of more than seven years, it is believed that the objects or which it was established are not sufficiently known or understood. It is desired to set forth in a concise form information respecting the business which this office undertakes :- 1. The charge of all kinds of money trust, such as Marriage Settlements, moneys to be invested for the benefit of Minors, moneys, bequeathed for charitable objects, moneys the title to which is in dispute, or whose legal owner is unknown or cannot be found, Ac, &c, 2. The administration of the wills of persons who by appointing the Public Trustee thefir executor secure the guarantee of the tate or the due fulfilment of their wishes, and avoid the risk consequent on tho appointment of private persons as executors, who not unfrequently, though earnestly desirous of acting for the benefit of parties inteiested, fail to carry out legally the oh jicts for which they were appointed and consequently involvo themselves and those whose interests they are striving to protect in costly and harassing litigation. 3. The administration of all estates of which no disposition has been made by will whenever relatives do not wish to inour the responsibility of administration, or cannot from any cause obtain the neoessary powers to act. In such cases it is the duty of the Public Trustees to discharge all legal debts as far as the assets extend, and divide the residue amongst the next of kin. 4. The administration of the estates of lunatics, lunatio patients, and convicts, 5. The charge of all lands lying waste and Unoccupied of which the owner is unknown, or who has been absent from the colony for ten years, having left no known agont.
