Her cargo, about 10 tons for Wanganui, was taken, out somewhat damaged.. - At high water-seas' were breaking right over her, Hopes are entertained that at spring tide she can be got off, if not, will, be repaired and launched over the breakwater into the river, as the Jane Anderson was. The Wakatu was built at Nelson 3 years ago, is of 70 tons register, is insured for £5,000 in the South British, and re-in-sured in the United, National, and Union. Captain Bendall, the Underwriter's inspector, is expected to-day. Survey is being made for owners, the principal one being J.S, Cross, Nelson.
