Book, late Town Clerk, handing over Council booki, &o ; from Clerk of Trust Lands, atatihß that their application for space to build a tool-shed at the rear of the Town Hall was granted; from Col. Sec, re Olub license; from Cr Wakelin, apologising for absence.

Resolved—That fourteen days' notice be given to rate defaulters.—That the Borough books be audited before being handed over to the new Town ClerkThat a man be constantly employed in ■the t Boroußh, and that applications be invited for same.

The Works Committee, Treasurer's, Foundkeepsr's, and Inspector's reports were read and adopted. Mr W. Skeet was appointed auditor, on the mot.on of Or Baillie, seconded by Or Haigh. The Poundkeeper's and Raneer's acoounts were referred to the Finanoe Oomtnittee.

The report of the Fire Brigade Comtnittee was read, and Cr Baillie asked that his notice of motion be allowed to stand over until Or Gray's motion on the subjeot was brought forward.
