(USiTED PREBS ASSOCIATION,) ;'OuwstOHDHCH, Jan, 20. Sixty-nine applications were received for the Secretaryship to .the Canterbury Jockey^Club, and all were considered unsuitable. The .olub has determined to inoreaee the salary to £250 a year; if necessary and invite fre?h applications, At the meeting to-day, a proposition was made to hold a : New Year's mealing. It • was' favorably received, but nothing definite actually done.
