ACCIDENTAL DEATH.
An enquiry is being held this afternoon, in the Empire Hotel, Masterton, by Dr Spratt, tlio District Coroner, into the death of VVillinm Ford, who was killed last evening by a fall from bis horse. The deceased was in the employ of Mr T. L. Thompson, and was yesterday in Masterton, when it was observed that he was drinking heavily. About half-past eight last night n man named Benjamin Tooby discovered bis dead body at Te Ore Ore, lyinp near agate, which was brokeu. The deceased had evidently ridden his horse against this gate, or had tried to leap it, and had been shot from the saddle, breaking neck by the fall. The deceased was a married mau about 40 years' of age, but without, family. His wife is iiulomestio service at Te Ore.—Oar report of the inquest will appear to-morrow.
