UNITED PRESS AGENOY. ; ( "_ Auckland, this day. Alexander Wilkie, mate of the brigantine Eliza Mary, was drowned last night. He was helping a drunken seaman aboard from the wharf, when both slipped off the plank. The seaman was picked up alive, but nothing was seen of Wilkie. The body is not yet found.
