RECEPTION OF TAWHAIO AT ELLERSLIE.

' . : Acokland, this day./Tawhaio and Major Mair, with fifty followers, including the King's three sons, .wife, and sister, and the leading ohiefs— Malmhuri, Wahanui, and Honana—arrived at Ellerslie station, at four o'clock yesterday afternoonj-and were received by the Mayor, William' Swanson,' M.H.R., and a number of leading citizers. They were presented'with'bouquets of flowers, and" driven over to Paul's at Orakei, where the King was' welcomed by a musketry salute.;' Two'ch'ieftfspoke on Paul's side and were replied : to \y two Kingite chiefs. At the tangi,-Tawhiao went out . between the two parties arid wept. He will stay at Orakei till the public reception at Auckland on Thursday, A number of norlhora ohiefs have arrived to welcome Tawhiao. The' railway employees, through Major Mair, invited Tawhiao to the railway pionid to he held oh "Saturday atHunua. ' '■ "
