A lad named Sepiuski was brought before Mr J. Tully and Dr. H, T, Sprat J. P.'s at Greytown yesterday, charged with stealing a bridle. It appears the article in question was left on a fence for a short time but when the owner returned it could not be found, Information was given to the Police, who eventually found it in tho house of the lad's parents. As the hoy was seen near the place just before the bridle was missed there could be no doubt nn to his guilt, The justices decided to dismiss the case, on the understanding that his lather punished him. The leniency displayed is rather a matter for surprise, for the lad and hio younger brother has gained quite a notoriety in Greytown by their pilfering habits, and the general opinion is that by sending them to an industrial school or training ship they would be kept from temptation and had influences. As the father of tho lad refused to punish him the constable administered twelve strokes with a supplejack.

A. Gardener & Son's advertisement' on our front page. This firm is determined to keep up their reputation. Gardener & Son supply goods in almost every instance 10 to 16 per cent cheaper, and in largo quantities still furthor concessions aro made,—(Advt ■
