Rules and Regulations: All entries to be made subject to the condition that all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom they may appoint, and that such decision shall be final and binding in all cases. Nominations for. the Handicap Hurdle Race, Ma'doii Plate, Taratahi-Ca terton Handicap, and Sapling Stakes to be made in writing, stating name, pedigreo, description and age of horse, and colors of rider, and to be sent in, accompanied by the nomination fee, to the office of the Hon. Secretary, Mr L. Wilson, Carterton, on or before Thursday, sth January, 1882, at 4 p.m The weights will be declared on 10th January. 1882, and' published in the local newspapers. No protest will be considered unless lodged within 15. minutes after the race, and accompanied by a deposit of £2, which shall be forfeited jf the protest is frivolous or vexatious.
