THE MAORI ELECTION.
The polling took place for the Eastern Maori Electoral District yesterday. There was not a groat amount of interest taken in the matter, only !>! votes being polled altogether. Mr J. J. Freetli acted as Chief Deputy Returning Officer, the Rov, Pinealm Mnhauriki acting as bis associate.
