The Wairarapa Daily. MONDAY, DECEMBER 5, 1881.

Mr Husky is rather ungrateful to us. He says the Waiharapa Daily is dead against him and does him nil the mischief it can. If we had been dead against Mr Bunny at the last general election he would not have got in, His friends made a blunder in their tactics which ex|xised him to defeat, but they who were opposed to him held back their hands and would not take advantage of the opportunity, If we were dead against Mr Bunnylic would stand ft very.poor chance in the present election. His position is a critical one and n very slight push would destroy his chance. Though Mr Bunny be ungrateful to us we shall not be the one to give this push. As we have said before we share in the kindly feeling with which Mr Bunny is regarded in this district, and as far as we are concerned wc will give him a fair chance of re-election. We cannot Conscientiously say that he is the best man to promote the interests of the Wairarnpa, and we feel bound to assert that it will be to tho ft<l»nnU 6 c, uf-tlie electors to return Mr W. 0. Buchanan. Beyond this we do not care to go, Mr Bunny may work a point by denouncing us, but he is quite welcome to do this, and he need not fear that we shall retaliate. Wo enn quite understand that Mr Bunny finding himself pushed by a more' powerful opponent than he has previously encountered should display signs ,of irritation. This is 'excusable!
