FIRING FOR CAPTAIN RUCK'S CUP.
—• Tub fifth competition for the Cup presented by Captain Ruck to the Mastevton Volunteers took place yesterday afternoon, and turned out to be the most exciting that has yet taken place. The conditions are that it must bo won twice consecutively or three times at intervals. After the fourteenth round was fired Private Anketell who had won it once before; and Corporal Wood who waa the successful competitor on the last occasion were level scores, Anketell having the advantage of being the highest scorer at the longest range. In the 15th round Anketell made an outer and Wood a centre, the latter winning the Cup by one point. He having won it on the last occasion it now becomes his absolute property. The winner who is a very popular member in the corps was loudly cheered by his comrades, Subjoined are the several scores:—
