The excitement was great, and nearly every vote on the roll was polled. Young's defeat was attributable to many of Hutchison's friends using all their influence to get votes for him from Young's supporters, fearing Fisher would other-! wiße beat Hutchison, As events proved Hutchison's chance from the first was hopeless. It is said that Fisher will now oppose Hutchison for the South Wellington seat in the House.
