IRELAND.
Rioting has taken place at Clare, Leinster. The constabulary were so savagely attacked that the military hid to be called out, and reinforcements procured before the disturbance was suppressed.
An Irishman has been arrested by the police at Bernberg, a town in the Duchy of Anhalt,in the Germau Empire, charged with purchasing from a local manufacturer clockwork, intended for an infernal machine. He is supposed to be tho accent of the Fouian organisation, which has been engaged in furthering nefarious designs for destroying British shipping and other property by means of dynamite and othor explosive machines. Serious disturbances have taken place in the parish of Cloumulty, County Cork, where the peasantry attacked the constabulary, and a fight ensued. Several arrests were made,
An attempt was made to murder a gentleman in West Meath, and DoputyLieutenant for the County. Ho was fired at by two men, but they missed their mark, and he escaped uninjured. A horrible outrage has been perpetrated at Wexford, Ireland. A lady, the owner of property in that locality, has been brutally murdered. Her home was entered at night. She was killed while sleoping in bed. The perpetrators of the deed escaped, At Kerry a dastardly attempt was committed upon a farmer, whose offence was that hu had been guilty of paying his rent contrary to the directions of the Land League. Fivo men broke into his house and savagely attacked the unfortunate man, leaving him half dead. An outrage of a similar character is also reported to have taken' place near Cork.
