Proposed Gondii ions for destroying Rabbits on Crown and'A'alive Lands, Wairurapa Uabbit ■ District;— ;■> The tenders must lie for destroying rabbits within the limits ofiSpecilic blocks of Government and Native lands, as per plans of district. • Contractors must contine their operations to the particular blocks sjieciticd in their respective contracts, and these operations must extend as far'as possible over the whole block areiviheiein continued. ..,.;, In order to insure that Contractors are doing everything in their power to reduce the rabbits tinder their agreement the Inspector, or a person authorized by him for that purpose/may, when the contract has been in existence for a period of two months, and at any time thereafter during the continuance of the contract, enter on the respective blocks, and if sucli • person shall then be able to kill fifteen rabbits in a single day, on the whole or any part of such block or blocks (being the subject of one contract), the Contractor shall be liable to a deduction of ten (10) shillings from any moneys to which he may then be entitled, and to a further deduction of ten (10) shillings for each day during which the said authorized person shall be able tool) tain the said number of rabbits on that block or blocks. No Contractor shall receive more than 75 per cent, of the money payable to him upon skins delivered until the expiration of his contract, and any deductions imposed upon him as hereinbefore or hereinafter stated shall be made from tho 25 per cent of moneys retained in Land.

In the event of proof being produced that any Contracted lias purchased rabbit-skins which have lieen obtained from outside the limits' of the block or blocks mentioned in his contract, for the purpi'se of disposing of the same as being skins of rabbits killed under his agreement, he shall forfeit any moneys which may then lie due to him, and his contract shall, at the discretion of the Inspector, become null and void.

The skins of all rabbits (excepting nesters) shall be properly cleaned, and delivered in sound marketable condition; they must be thoroughly dried, and fairly stretched, either turned inside out, or split open down the belly (nesters' skins must bo dried sufficiently to enable them to be brought in and counted); heads, ears, and legs must be cut off; the skins tied up in bundles of ten, and delivered at some depot of which due notice will be given.

If a Contractor during any portion of the term covered by his agreement be, in the opinion of the inspector, neglecting the work of destroying the rabbits under such agreement, then the Inspector shall have power to'de'termine such agreement forthwith. :.,• ;■•
