Kiwisiier was shown in 1874 at Hawke's Gay, where lie took first prize in his class for tlie horse, best adapted for improving the breed of stout and sound thoroughbred horses for general purposes, beating Pacific (imp), Teranga, and several others. He also won the Champion Prize for the best thoroughbred horse of any ago in the yard. In 1875 he took the same prizes, boating Papapa and others. In 187b' ho was justly awarded the prize for the horse best adapted to improve the breed of saddle horses. Albo first prize at the Masferton show, in 1877. Kingfisher will leave Manaia every Mon day, calling at Bay's Taratahi Hotel, and on Tuesdays at Jones' Foresters' Arms Hotel, (Jreytown. Manaia on Wednesday, uiuwiay, and Friday, and at Club Hotel Stables, Masfertou on Saturday. Sir Charles is by the imported horse Prince Charley, out ol Lady, imported, Lady's dam Gipsy Queen, by Thene of Clyde. Prince Charley was btcd by Jatnoa Nicol Fleming, Esq. (whose stock is unequalled in Great Britain), and is by Prince Alfred, dam Jane, by Prince, dam Darling, by Samson, alias Logan's Twin. Prince Charley is also own brother to the Scotch Champion Prineo of Wales, sold to Lawror.ce Drew, Esq,, of Mcirytown, for 1500 guineas. Prince Charley took first prize at Christchurch in 1872, beating a field of eiglit, six of them being imported, r.iid all , a»cd horses but one. be himself being only 13' years old; also a special prize for the best animal on the ground. He also gained the special prizo siren by the Mayor of Christ-r-lmrch for tho beet horse of any ago, Sir Charles was shown four times in Hawke's Bay, and gained firstprize, also the Society Medal as best entire of any ago in 1878. He has a very stiong constitution and mild temper, and is thoroughly sound, staunch, and quiet in harness.
