Gilbert, Pusey Vale, South Australia, is a dark-brown horse, standinp 16 hands high, and is admitted to be ono of the most powerful thoroughbred horses m the Australasian Colonieß. mO Stand this Season L i» NVairarapa, the powerful Clydesdale Hoise in NVairarapa, 818 CHARLES. Sir Char&ks is a beautiful bay with black points, rising 6 years old, stands ll\ hands high, with immense bone, an I plenty of fine hair, and is a beautiful model of the Clydesdale breed. Sir Charles is by the imported horse Prince Charley, out ol Lady, imported, Lady's dam Gipsy Queen, by Thcne of Clyde. Prmce Charley was bred by James Nicol Fleming, Esq. (whose stock is unequalled in Great Britain), and is by Prince Alfred, dam Jane, by Prince, dam Darling, by Samson, alias Logan's Twin. Prince Charley is also own brother to the Scotch Champion Prince of Wales, sold to Lawrence Drew, Esq., of Meirytowu, for 1500 guineas. Prince Charley took first prize at Christchurch in 1872, beating a field of eight, six of them being imported, and all aged horses but one, he himself being only 3 years old; also a special prize for the best animal on the ground. He also gained the special prize given by the Mayor of Christ'•hurch for the best horse of any age. Sir Charles was shown four times in Hawke's Bay, and gained first prize, also the bociety Medal as best entire of any age in 18i8. He has a very Btiong constitution and mild temper, and is thoroughly sound, staunch, and quiet in harness.
