Sir Charms is a beautiful bay with black points, rising 6 years old, stand- \l\ haiub high, with immense bone, an-1 plenty of fine hair, and is a beautiful' modtl of the Clydesdale breed. Sir Charles is by the imported horse Prince Charley, out ot Lady, imported, Lady's dam Gipsy Queen, by Tliene of Clyde. Prince Charley was bred by .fames Nicol Fleming, Esq. (whose stock is unequalled in Great Britain), and is by Prince Alfred, darn Jane, by Prince, dam Darling, by Samsun, alias Logan's Twin. Prince Charley is also own brother to the Scotch Champion Prince of Wales, sold to Lawrence Drew, Esq,, of Meirytowu, for I'ollO guineas. Prince Charley took first prize at Christchurch iu 1872, beating a field of eight, six of them being imported, and all aged horses but one, be himself being only 3 years old; also a special priz* for the best auimal on the ground. He also gained the special prize <;iven by the Maj or of Christ'•hurch for the best horse of any ago, Sir Charles was shown four times in Hawke's Bay, and gained first prize, alao the Society Medal as best entire of any age in 1878.
